Mr. Bush...

While Mr. Bush makes our democracy look more like a "dumbocracy", he gave his final State of the Union address. In this speech he tried to make it look like he knew what he was talking about, but as usual he did not disappoint us with stating facts we already knew. The economy is in trouble and people are worried. Well of coarse we are all worried, and the fact that he is going to cut 151 "wasteful or bloated" government programs shows he knows a little something but, he is still funding a war that is useless. That is one thing he should cut if any is the war in Iraq. Thank god we don't have much time left under this great leader.

im curios as to why you think this war is so useless? i do however agree with the fact that with Bush out of office things could get potentially better, however, the drive by media has hindered your view of this war. The US liberated an entire country when no one else had the mettle to stand up and free those people. And he is right in cutting "wasteful" programs the government has taken too much money from the people who have worked for it. This nation is being taxed too highly. this war is our main focus today. its far from over. We still have troops in Germany, 50 years after the war, we still have troops in Korea, 50 years after the war. all of our military needs funding and without a strong military this country would not be where it is today. without funding we as a coutry lose our secutriy and the world lose its back bone. becuase lets face it no one would ever stand up for another in todays society. today its winner take all and no one cares whose toes they step on to get there. and the world thinks that if we go into Iraq or Afghanistan and nicely ask for their sucide bomb leaders and the heads of other terrorist organizations they will galdly hand them over and the world will peacefully sit around a fire singing "Kumbya" (i dont know how to spell that) the sad fact is that there is evil in this world and the dangers of doing nothing about them are all to frightening, unfortunatly sometimes war is the only answer with a solution.
as Albert Einstien said, "as long as there are men there will be wars" im the last person to want to go to war because i plan on going into the military yet, if its the only answer with a solution im gonig to support it. with the US as a leading World power Iraqis would probably still be getting gased by Saddam and placed in one of his many mass graves.

ok im going to respond to both of your comments here. first off we are not trading blood for oil because if you think about it America has the strongest military in the world if we really wanted the oil we could just take it and leave. and as far as oil goes if the hippies and greenies would just let us drill in anwar instead or the coast of mexico instead of worrying about some squirrel population or what ever it is that they are conserned with oil would not be an issue. and as far as your Saddam being out of power you are right he is gone but not his enthusiasm there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of radical islamists over there who will gladly trade all of their souls for one infidels thats you or me. as far as WMDs go i have a story i would like to share with you if you dont believe it ask Neals dad its straight from his mouth. he was in one of saddams palaces while he was still looking for saddam. when all of the sudden the palace was struck by a missile one that saddam had aquired fromRussia during the cold war. now he is still alive but is dying of cancer because when the investigation team moved in to check out the situation they found samples from particles of the missles themselves that had deteriorated uranium in it. now this man is dying of cancer from uranium exposure and the media never covered the story. hmm interesting eh? Saddam was not and idot he snuck those WMDs out of Iraq and they are either buried in the desert or hiding in Saudi Arabia. now i agree we should move beyond iraq into other countries that pose nuclear threats such as Iran but there needs to be some sort of security force in Iraq because the people are still living in fear of the oppression from the terrorists. Operation Iraqi Freedom is our mission not just remove Saddam part of the job is finished but until the people can fight and govern themselves our job is incomplete. if we leave then they win its simple about as simple as it gets. we operate in accordance to liberation to men women and children alike who seek the natural law on which our country was founded. they operate in accordance to Jihad or Holy War to kill anyone or anything that does not worship Allah. thats why they need to be stopped that is why we are over there and that is why the job is not finished Iraq is not Free.

ps this is not meant to be in a hostile tone.

ok yes George Bush Senoir gave Saddam the raw matrials for his WMDs. why? to fight the soviet union during the cold war. at the time our interests were in oil so we chose the lesser of two evils. then UN resolutions which saddam ignored were put to iraq to get rid of there WMDs. heres a little interesting fact Iraq began playing hide-and-seek with UN inspectors in 1991. In December 1998, Saddam stopped all cooperation with the UN, refusing to let any weapons inspectors into the country. that was a big no no according to the resolutions yet Clinton and the UN didnt act though CLinton himself Said, "If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program." then he did NOTHING!!!! and this is the god among the democratic party he just let saddam do as he pleased. but he did however allow a mass number of somolians into the country which populated NYC (#1 sleeper cell in the US) and Columbus Ohio (#2 sleeper cell in the US). Clinton was not the only one who believed that Saddam had WMDs Al Gore said, "We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." and Hillary said before the War "I was one who supported giving President Bush the authority, if necessary, to use force,” and
"Every nation has to either be with us, or against us. Those who harbor terrorists, or who finance them, are going to pay a price." and now she opposes everything she has ever said about it. everyone thought the WMDs were there but Saddam like stated before has hidden them in Syria, Suadi Arabia or posibly buried them in the desert. all that aside i agree that it is time for a slow removal of troops but some need to stay in oreder to ensure that terror is not stricken back into the people or else we start over from square one. when Woodrow WIlson promised the Philippines their freedom when they could aquire a "stable government" in 1919 he had no clue it would take almost 30 years before it would happen. it takes time and the sooner that is realized the sooner this war will be over. and as far as oil goes the US gets 80% of its oil from Canada and Mexico. so oil is not as big of a deal as the left makes it out to be. and in closing the US has 10,000 Nukes (thats the ones the government lets us know we have) so we have nothing to fear. from little countries with their WMDs but the having Nukes comes with the knowledge and resposiblity that they should never be used EVER!!!! but if Iran is not put in its place soon the world could be heading into downward spiral. I will not comment on Michael Moore except that i cannot stand him=) and that is all i have to say about him. but on a good note the pic of the rebels makes me laugh probably too much.

well we are at war with Afghanistan which is a direct result of 911 but Iraq had ignored a number of UN resolutions it is not about revenge its about liberation. Bush saw a problem within the UN and their responce to saddam and wne after it. we did a good thing the war is slowing people are now shifting the ratio of fear to where the terrorists fear them rather than the opposite. and a number of the terrosists who helped Osama plan 911 were from Somalia. and we do have forces in Suadi we have since the first time we had dealt with Saddam in Desert Storm they were our ticket into Iraq. and out of the other countries how long do you think we can avoid Iran? its only a matter of time. our forces will move througgout the middleeast liberating all who desire. (and when i say liberate i dont mean turn into the US i mean turn into a country that is free thinking and governing) however that in mind it will also take time. history shows us that our military is one of liberation not conquering, this event is no different.

ok we keep going in circles with this whole thing lol. Saddam ignored UN sanctions and denied access of inspectors into his country and from that point forward he used his military to kill his own and gass his own people. they rejoiced when we captured him. YAY! but the UN never took immediate action because no one had the mettle to stand up to him and say enough is enough. so when the US delcared war on terror (Saddam harbored terrorism and his streets ran red with blood from suicide bombers and the innocent they took out)thus we went to war with Iraq. Bush saw a problem and took care of it which is a lot less than most could say in our day and age. say what you want to about him (HE SUCKS WITH MONEY we all know that and the country is feeling that now) but he handled this situation of 911 and The War on Terror better than anyone else in washington could have or would have handled it. the reason the US didnt move in years befor is because years before we declared no war on terrorism and years before Clinton was in office. that should be enough said, the man pulled out of Somolia after two helicopters were shot down. he retreated and declared defeat and in return let overflowing masses of Somolians come into the US. the Clinton Administration was so screwed up but that is another topic for another debate. and as far as Bush senior he did what he vowed to do Saddam ignored UN sanctions banning him from taking land he ignored and invaded Kuwait (a pattern?) so Bush senior vowed to remove him from the Area not kill him and he did just that he liberated Kuwait and left he never had any intention on setting up a sound government in Kuwait he just want Saddam out of there and to realize that he cant do as he pleases. the timing was when it just so happened to fall and reasoning again is to liberate. oil is of a small minute financial issue but like i said we get most of our oil from Canada and Mexico so its not as big of a deal as people make it out to be. however now our troops and our focus is slowly changing to where it needs to be mostly: Afghanistan while keeping a close eye on Iran ( my personal thoughts is that we have spys and spec ops guys there already but that is just me)=)
